They were drawing lonely men into a specific URL in virtual reality. While their mental data was occupied, somebody else took their bodies, selling them off for parts. Those men were never able to log out. There was nothing to return to.
They were working with a business man and happened to give my assistant the URL. From there it was fairly easy to track down the source and deal with them.
