...He must have come back for Matsui. [DANA!!! YOU REALLY DID THIS!!!] Was there anything else you noticed?
From the nail polish? [ imagine trying to murder with a bottle of nail polish... what the heckie. ] No, I don't know. I was mostly meeting him by the skate park, but everything was fine there when we woke up today.
[it's not meant to be a stab at kazuki's assertion, just a sort of blank statement, like rang is thinking back at how it looked in the morning before he'd been randomly summoned to the salon,]
These murders never make sense, even at the end of trial.
I know - that weird magic they have here that covers everything up. It's stupid when we could use that time to try to figure things out a little more. Nine hours isn't a lot to work with.
...I want to know why, though. Why Buzen-san, if it wasn't just a grudge after last week.
You didn't decide to do it on your own, though? Someone told me about the message - it's different when you're being coerced like that. And they shouldn't be blamed for someone else's decision, either, especially after they tried so hard to help out. It's not that simple.
[ kazuki frowns. ]
...Maybe. But even if it was you instead, it wouldn't have stopped your team from becoming the biggest targets here.
[there's a blip of surprise -- the one emotion that's not grief or rage or numbness -- to hear kazui put it so sensibly. maybe he's still thinking of their last conversation, the grief kazuki experienced.

...True. It would have been two remaining, either way.
[the temptation would still have been great,]
If it wasn't out of revenge, then it must have been their strategy. We're not in the bottom either, so taking us out will be a plus.
I can't say it's a bad strategy, but I hate that this stupid game is forcing us to think that way. Taking people's lives shouldn't be a strategy in the first place.
w2 friday
He was on the front pew.
[ kazuki assumes that's what he wants to talk about, so. may as well get it out of the way. ]

I didn't see anything at the salon either. Just a bottle missing from the nail polish.
Do you know if Buzen went to the salon at all this week?

It might have been. We were all complicit in Rin's death, even though Matsui and Buzen did their best to help.
Killing me would have done nothing, but erasing Buzen is the best chance to get rid of all of us.
